Ohio Amish Express
1st Day: On our way to the Ohio Amish area we will stop at the Fenton Glass Museum and Gift Shop. Enjoy beautiful and rare glass from the past in the museum and watch a video on the making of Fenton glass in the theater. Complete your Fenton experience with a visit to the Gift Shop and Outlet for the world’s largest display of Fenton glass! Selection includes the complete first quality line, everyday discounted preferred seconds and retired first-quality glass, including many pieces previewed on QVC shows! Then on to Dover, Ohio and our home for the next two nights.
2nd Day: Our first stop will be at Warther Carvings. Ernest Warther, “World’s Master Carver,” presents an amazing display of hand-carved wonders, including steam locomotives, trains, an 18th century steel mill and many other intricate carvings. Also featured is Mrs. Warther’s 73,000 button collection, Swiss-style gardens and a gift shop. Next, we will head to Berlin, Ohio, the heart of the Amish Country. This is the world’s largest Amish settlement . We will have a guided tour of the area, including a stop at an Amish Farm to see how the Amish people still live as they did 100 years ago. Have lunch on your own. Also included will be a visit to a cheese factory. We will visit the shops in Walnut Creek, including the Coblentz Chocolate Factory. After our visit to the Ohio Amish area, we will return to Dover. Tonight, we will have a wedding-style feast in an Amish home. After dinner, we will return to the hotel for the night. (CB, D)
3rd Day: Have breakfast and board the coach for our return trip home. We’ll be stopping in West Virginia at the New River Bridge and Gorge, where there are two overlooks that give spectacular and breath taking views of the wild New River and the New River Gorge Bridge, a four-lane steel arch bridge which is the longest in the world. It is the highest span east of the Mississippi River and the third highest in the United States. Continuing home after our visit to the New River Gorge. Arriving back approximately 7:00 PM. (CB)
