Christmas In The Amish Country “Jonah” & “A Swingin Christmas”
1st Day: Upon arrival in Lancaster, Pennsylvania we will check into our home for the next two nights. Tonight, enjoy dinner and a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre. Playing at this time is “A Swingin’ Christmas”. We return to the tradition that has made Dutch Apple a favorite for Christmas entertainment. It’s beautiful singing, breath-taking dancing, gorgeous costumes, rib-tickling fun, and a commitment to the real meaning of the holiday. The heart of the show never changes with new songs, new dances, and a new cast. (D)
2nd Day: This morning, we will visit the National Christmas Center. Discover the magic and memories, the history and traditions of Christmas at the National Christmas Center! Here, the true meaning of Christmas is honored and remembered. We celebrate the birth of Christ. You are invited to take a realistic journey from “Nazareth” to “Bethlehem,” immersing you in the rich history and culture of biblical times. Through this experience, they hope to bring each visitor closer to a true understanding of the miracle that was that first Christmas, over 2000 years ago. This afternoon we will visit the Kitchen Kettle Village, with over thirty shops and restaurants jammed full of Lancaster’s simple pleasures. We’ll also go to a Farmer’s Market (if open). Tonight, an Amish Feast is included. After dinner, we head to Strasburg to the Sight & Sound Theatre. We’ll see “Jonah.” Set sail on an exhilarating journey with one of the Bible’s most colorful prophets! This massive production features breathtaking effects including a multifaceted 40-foot-tall ship that breaks apart right before your eyes and an immersive underwater scene with a shocking reveal of the big fish that swallows God’s misguided prophet. This sweeping musical intertwines powerful themes of love, mercy, obedience and second chances. Watch as Jonah sojourns on a trek of rediscovery to where he eventually finds himself and the all-merciful heart of God. (CB, D)

First we walk through a tropical jungle where cocoa beans are harvested, then follow the cocoa bean’s journey to a boat dock where beans are loaded into ships headed for America. From there, we climb aboard the tour ride and enter the simulated factory tour. You will receive a free sample of a Hershey’s product at the end of the tour. After the tour, we depart for home.
